Please read carefully before hire!

Booking Terms & Conditions & Disclaimer (Summary)

• 50% of total hire fee is payable at time of booking as a deposit.

• CycleStation reserve the right to cancel your booking without notice, and for any reason – if CycleStation cancel your booking a full refund will be issued for the booking deposit.

• You may cancel your booking at any time, however the booking deposit is non-refundable.

• You can reschedule your reservation up to 24 hours before your booking date: just give us a call on 07543782541 or email us: hire@cyclestation.org.uk

• You will be provided with a safety overview of the bike/equipment and offered a cycle helmet for each member of your party, and all members of your party must accept full responsibility for wearing these items. Helmets are mandatory for children up to and including 16 years old.

• Each party member will be required to complete a paper consent form when collecting your rentals.

• Minimum age for booking is 18 – at least one party member must be 18+

• E-Bikes minimum age is 16

• If you have booked the wrong size or type of bike, CycleStation will endeavour to accommodate your party needs, however this is subject to availability

• Late returns will be subject to additional hire charges

• All Items must be returned by 4:30pm on day of rental

• Your must accept, agree and (digitally) sign this disclaimer / Terms & Conditions before any hire can commence

Disclaimer for Cycle Station – Cycle Hire at Whitelee Windfarm, operated by Cycle Station Bike Hire Limited. (Hereafter referred to Cycle Station) under agreement with East Renfrewshire Council.

• I understand that participating in this activity is potentially hazardous and that I should not participate unless I am medically able and competent.
• I agree that I have no known health conditions that may affect my ability to safely partake in this activity.
• In consideration of the acceptance of this hire, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury, accident or damage to myself or any third party which may occur during the period of my hire.
• I also am aware of and assume all risks associated with participating in this activity, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, effect of weather, traffic and conditions of the track/surface. I, for myself and my heirs and executers, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the organisers, sponsors, promoters, Cycle Station Cycle Hire, East Renfrewshire Council, East Ayrshire Council, South Lanarkshire Council, landowners, land managers and Scottish Power Renewables as the windfarm operator and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assignees, and all other persons associated with the activity, from all liabilities, claims, actions or damages that may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation.
• I understand that I will be cycling on rough access tracks that are not maintained for the purposes of cycling, that I will be accessing a remote moorland area with varied topography, steep slopes and unprotected track verges and that weather conditions can change without warning.
• I understand that this is an operational windfarm, that operational vehicles use the tracks as well as other recreational users and that I have a responsibility to be mindful of other site users and animal on site (e.g. dogs, horses, sheep etc.).
• I understand that some access tracks may be temporarily closed to accommodate windfarm maintenance activity.
•  I confirm I have a means of being contacted by and contacting CycleStation, at the number submitted in this booking process, in the event of an emergency and I understand that the windfarm operator, landowners or their agents do not offer a rescue service.
• I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the above parties to use photographs, video recordings, motion pictures, website images recordings and or any other recording of this activity for publicity and reporting purposes. (no personal information will be shared without specific consent)

Bike / Equipment Hire Terms and Conditions (Full)

• Your credit/debit card details will be kept for the duration of your hire from Cycle Station. This information will be destroyed upon return of the equipment in a satisfactory condition. The person signing the disclaimer form will be held financially liable for any loss or damage to the equipment hired and is fully aware of these terms and conditions.

• The Hirer hereby warrants and undertakes that they will further protect the interests of the bike and/or other equipment by ensuring that the bike is always locked to a fixed object when unattended. Even when locked it is the Hirers responsibility to protect the welfare of the bike and/or equipment and not leave unattended for extended periods of time.

• The Hirer warrants and undertakes that they will use the equipment in a safe and responsible manner and that they will not operate the bike or permit the bike to be operated whilst unfit or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• As the Hirer, you understand that any cycling activity involves a certain element of risk. You are advised that any person using Cycle Station equipment does so entirely at their own risk. Cycle Station does not accept any liability for personal injury, loss or damage to property beyond its legal obligation.

• As the Hirer you will make yourself aware of the weather forecast and ensure you take a map of the windfarm access tracks for orientation purposes. Important Information and Guidance is available on the Whitelee Windfarm and East Renfrewshire Council websites which highlight health and safety considerations when accessing Whitelee windfarm.

• In the event of an emergency the Hirer should contact CycleStation on the advertised number shown on the side of the bicycle (07543782541) who will provide further instructions/assistance. The Hirer should be contactable in the event that CycleStation require to contact them to provide advice or instructions in relation to an emergency reported by another party.

• It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that the bicycle and/or other equipment is in proper working order; this includes, but is not limited to, helmets, brakes, steering, tyres, drive shaft including pedals and any extras fitted such as child seats. If any problems are noticed then this should be reported immediately where another bicycle and/or other equipment will be issued.

• Helmets are available free of charge for every hire, we strongly recommend everyone wears a helmet. Children under 16 years old must wear a helmet and must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

• You assume full responsibility for any accident or injury which should occur as a result of the hire.

• Children under 16 will not be hired electric bikes and must not be allowed to try or use electric bikes hired to a person over 16 during any hire.

• Everyone must declare that they are in good health and that their eyesight is up to a good standard. That you are not suffering from any medical condition or disability which is likely to adversely affect their normal control of the bicycle.

• All equipment will only be used in the manner for which it is intended. Bicycles must not be used off the tracks/ paths nor taken out with the limits of the windfarm boundaries or immersed in water.

• You will not use bicycles for jumps, or carrying passengers. Children should always be supervised by an adult.

• Unless previously agreed with Cycle Station, you will ensure that you will be present for a scheduled collection and return timeslot.

• Late returns may be subject to additional charges.

• If you have booked the wrong size or type of bike, CycleStation will endeavour to accommodate your party needs, however this is subject to availability – Booking deposit is non-refundable if you have booked the wrong size / type and we cannot offer a suitable alternate.

• No refunds are available for bookings cancelled by customers, however you can reschedule with us up to 24 hours before your booking date: just give us a call on 07543782541 or email us: hire@cyclestation.org.uk
